The character and history of the club

Renma Dojo is part of the Athletic Association of Traditional Karate Piraeus (A.S.P.K.P).

Ren-Ma dojo is one of the few non-profit athletic association in Greece.

The sum of the fees colected by the club are used primarily for functional expenses of the faculty and secondly for the growth of Kendo in Greece, and more specificaly for the organisation of seminars with leading trainers and teachers from abroad. We would like to note that the trainer and the all the teachers of Ren-Ma work for free.

The club was founded by a team of experienced kendoka (kendo athlete) in the beginning of 2008 and is under the guidance and supervision of Kunihide Koda sensei 8 Dan Kyoshi, head of  the Kendo department of the Japanese University of Tsukuba and winner of the 6th world championship kendo in 1985 in Paris.

It is located in closed training hall of the Athens Olympic athletic installation (OAKA) “Spyros Louis”.

A number of its members have participated in the national team. The club has won many distinctions in Greece and abroad and each year participates in the all Greek championships and certain foreign ones.

Finally it is member of Greek Federation of Kendo, Iaido, Naginata, (E.O.K.I.N.) and via this it is connected with the European Kendo Federation – EKF and the International Kendo Federation – FIK.
